Fellowships and observerships
Are you interested in a clinical fellowship or a clinical observership at Sahlgrenska University Hospital? A fellowship is a hands-on, advanced sub-specialty training program for physicians who have completed their residency. An observership is a short-term shadowing experience where a medical professional strictly observes procedures without direct patient contact.
While the hospital does not advertise formal observerships or fellowships, departments at Sahlgrenska University Hospital frequently host international visiting doctors for clinical observerships and fellowships. These placements can last from several weeks up to over a year and are arranged in cooperation with individual departments. Hands-on clinical participation is possible for EU or Swedish-licensed doctors, otherwise visiting doctors are limited to shadowing and research.
