Verena- Pathologist

Artificial intelligence, molecular diagnostics and digital tools are rapidly reshaping the field of pathology. Verena Bröcker, a specialist pathologist with expertise in renal pathology and molecular pathology, sees this ongoing transformation as one of the most exciting aspects of the profession.

While pathology is sometimes perceived as a profession carried out behind the scenes, Verena highlights the close collaboration with clinical colleagues and the central role pathologists play in patient care.

"I work closely with colleagues across many medical specialties. We are an important piece of the puzzle when it comes to diagnosing disease and helping guide patient management and treatment decisions."

Looking ahead, Verena believes pathology will continue to evolve alongside advances in artificial intelligence and precision medicine, creating both opportunities and new challenges for the profession.
