Safety and reassurance at the heart of everything we do
For us, healthcare is about more than medicine – it is about helping you feel safe and supported. We know that care is better when children can be children and stay close to their family. We provide family-centred care and work closely with parents and other family members.
You are an important part of your child's care. We want to work in partnership with you because you know your child best.
We are here to support you. We want to understand your needs and make your stay with us as comfortable and straightforward as possible.
Two adult family members can stay with their child in the patient's room, a spacious single room with an en-suite bathroom.
Families can also stay at the Ronald McDonald House next to the children's hospital.
We actively work to:
- Provide joined-up care without unnecessary interruptions.
- Listen to the experiences of children and their families.
- Make it easy to understand what is happening and why.
- A hospital designed for children and families
- Queen Silvia Children's Hospital was named the Best Healthcare Project of the Decade worldwide at the prestigious European Healthcare Design Awards 2025. The hospital has been designed around the needs of children and families, with light, colour, and spaces for play and rest.
