Carina Reinholdt
Carina Reinholdt is a Senior Consultant Hand Surgeon and researcher at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, specialising in reconstructive surgery for people with tetraplegia.
With more than 30 years of experience in hand surgery and upper limb reconstruction, she is internationally recognised for her expertise in restoring hand and arm function following spinal cord injuries and other neurological conditions.
Her clinical work focuses on advanced reconstructive procedures, including tendon and nerve transfers, performed within multidisciplinary teams to improve function, independence and quality of life. She has led the tetraplegia reconstructive surgery programme at Sahlgrenska University Hospital for many years and holds a PhD in the field.
Reinholdt completed an international fellowship at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, and has contributed extensively to research, education and international collaboration throughout her career. She is affiliated with the Institute of Clinical Sciences at the University of Gothenburg, where her research focuses on functional reconstruction and long-term outcomes following neurological injury.
