Chalmers Sahlgrenska Health Engineering Alliance

Through the Chalmers Sahlgrenska Health Engineering Alliance, Chalmers University of Technology, the Sahlgrenska Academy and the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Gothenburg, together with Sahlgrenska University Hospital, are deepening their collaboration to advance world-leading healthcare and research at both national and international levels.

The partners will jointly explore and evaluate areas for collaboration where there is potential to drive leading national research and healthcare innovation. 

Sahlgrenska University Hospital is a key partner in the Chalmers Sahlgrenska Health Engineering Alliance, a strategic collaboration that brings together healthcare, academia, and engineering expertise to advance technology-driven healthcare innovation. The alliance marks both a continuation of long-standing cooperation and the beginning of a more structured, long-term partnership focused on developing solutions with direct clinical application.  

Through the collaboration with Chalmers University of Technology, the Sahlgrenska Academy, and the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Gothenburg, Sahlgrenska University Hospital plays a central role in linking clinical practice with research and technological development. The partnership enables joint efforts in areas such as AI-based diagnostics, medical imaging, and new models of care, including advanced healthcare in the home.  

By bringing together clinicians, researchers, and engineers, the alliance creates a platform for innovation that originates in real healthcare needs while offering potential for broader, international impact. For Sahlgrenska University Hospital, the collaboration strengthens its ambition to translate research and technology into tangible improvements in patient care.
