CCRM
The partnership aims to promote and facilitate collaboration in Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs). ATMPs have the potential to replace long-term treatments with one-time therapies and may enable cures for diseases that are currently considered incurable.
Through the memorandum of understanding, the parties have agreed to explore opportunities for collaboration in areas such as project development, GMP-compliant manufacturing, clinical trial enablement, training, exercises and knowledge transfer. The agreement also opens possibilities for sharing facilities, laboratories and other infrastructure.
Strategic partnership to accelerate the development of advanced therapies
Sahlgrenska University Hospital, CCRM Nordic and the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg have entered into a strategic partnership to advance the development of advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs).
The partnership promotes and facilitates cooperation in the field of ATMPs and related technologies. The long-term ambition is to contribute to a stronger Swedish and Nordic ecosystem for advanced therapies by connecting expertise and resources from academia, healthcare providers and the life sciences sector.
ATMPs, which include gene therapies, cell therapies and tissue-engineered products, have the potential to transform the treatment of serious diseases. They have already shown significant promise in areas such as cancer care and may, in some cases, replace long-term treatments with single interventions capable of providing lasting benefits or even cures.
The partners will explore opportunities for collaboration in project and business development, process development to support the transition from early-stage research to production, quality-assured Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) manufacturing of ATMPs, clinical trial delivery, and the exchange of expertise, training and knowledge. The agreement also creates opportunities to share facilities, laboratories and other research infrastructure.
CCRM Nordic is a non-profit organisation dedicated to overcoming barriers to the commercialisation of advanced therapies. Based in Gothenburg, it supports innovators across the Nordic region and Europe.
