Sahlgrenska University Hospital provides healthcare services to approximately 970,000 residents in the Gothenburg urban area and delivers highly specialised care to 1.7 million people across the greater region. The hospital also welcomes international patients.
In 2025, the hospital carried out more than 71,000 operations, including 384 organ transplants.

Sahlgrenska University Hospital is a network of four hospitals that include: Sahlgrenska Hospital, Östra Hospital, Mölndal Hospital and Högsbo Hospital. The hospital also has several outpatient clinics in the city.
