Research funding and career

Cooperation with the university, industry and other types of research and educational institutions forms a natural part of activities at a university hospital. Extensive research, development and education activities are part of daily work at most units of the hospital in collaboration with the Sahlgrenska Academy. Sound financing is essential for carrying out research and education.

ALF

ALF (Agreement on Medical Education and Research) is an agreement between the Swedish government and seven of Sweden's county councils concerning the education of doctors, clinical research and the development of health services and medical care. Region Västra Götaland and the University of Gothenburg work together to develop new expertise based on scientific, proven clinical experience which can improve healthcare for the people of Västra Götaland.
