The humanitarian aid to Ukraine is coordinated by Region Västra Götaland’s special task force for Ukraine, which Sahlgrenska University Hospital is a part of. Sahlgrenska International Care is responsible for the medical equipment aid.

The special task force works closely with other authorities and development partners, which enables a rapid adaptation of our humanitarian assistance response to the latest developments in Ukraine.

Medical equipment aid has been sent continuously since the war started, and more transports are underway.

- So far we have primarily donated consumables for emergency care, basic medical equipment and assistive devices. Our transports have reached Kyiv, Rivne, Lviv and Uzhorod says Anders Lygdman, Senior advisor International Aid at Sahlgrenska International Care.

Sahlgrenska University Hospital has a readiness to receive patients from Ukraine. However hospital to hospital transfers of larger amount of patients are coordinated by national authorities.
