The following are channels for clinical studies, tests and simulations in clinical activities as well as areas of care in which the hospital is a leader, nationally and internationally.

ATMP center

The ATMP Center is a gateway to advanced therapy medicinal products for researchers and companies. The Center offers services and support in the development of ATMP, tissue engineered products, combined ATMP, cell therapy and gene therapy. It also provides access to the GMP facility.

Biobank Väst

Biobank Väst offers services and guidance in biobanking for researchers in healthcare, academia and the business community. It can provide assistance in the collection, processing, storage and traceability of biobank samples.

Centers of excellence

The centers of excellence gather expertise within the areas of healthcare in which Sahlgrenska University Hospital is a national and international leader, in order to provide the best possible care for patients.

Gothia Forum for Clinical Research

Gothia Forum offers services for the entire clinical research process, from idea to implementation. We provide expertise and support, including trial monitoring, legal advice, data management and health economics. We also coordinate access to clinical trial centers in the western healthcare region.

Innovation Platform

The Innovation Platform works to promote the development of innovation in healthcare in cooperation with academia and the life science sector. The platform is a gateway for testing and simulations in clinical operations, needs mapping and matching between clinical operations and industry and/or academia.

Gothenburg Research School of Health Engineering

​The Gothenburg Research School of Health Engineering (GRSHE) is a joint graduate school for PhD students at Chalmers University of Technology, the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg, and Sahlgrenska University Hospital.
