ATMP West

Sahlgrenska ATMP Centre hosted a highly appreciated half‑day seminar and networking meeting on Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs), bringing together 75 participants from across healthcare, academia, and the life science ecosystem at ATMP West on 15 April 2026.

The seminar offered a rich and diverse programme, covering the ATMP journey from research and manufacturing to clinical implementation and patient treatment. We would like to sincerely thank all the participants and our speakers for sharing their expertise and insights:

Mats Hellström from Sahlgrenska Science Park, Karolina Norin from VGR and Sara Nilsson from CCRM Nordic presented our two competence programs within ATMP Workforce Development Initiative (funded by EU and VGR). Michael Delahaye, CTO from CCRM Nordic, talked about industrial production of ATMPs. Lars Karlsson, paediatrician from Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital, presented CAR-T technology and his research in Pontine Glioma. Professor Fredrik Bergh Thorén held a very nice presentation about NK cells the TRAIL forward using NKp46. Emilie Rickardsson Bergqvist from Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine and Professor Karin Mellgren from Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital talked about manufacturing and clinical implications in using virus-specific T-cells under the hospital exemption.

These seminars are organised twice per year, providing an important platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration within the ATMP field in the region. The next seminar will be 11th of November 2026. Registration will be available later in the autumn at Sahlgrenska ATMP-centrum webpage.
